An act of kindness doesn’t change the world. But one good deed at a time is a very good start. Hundreds of stories of human kindness to animals circulate in different social media networking sites. And every day, millions of heartstrings get pulled by these random acts of kindness. Just like this one.
One Sunday of October in 2018, Pamela Altamirano Sanchez shared a video on her Facebook account. It is believed that the clip was shot somewhere in the territories of Ecuador. In the footage was an old man helping a homeless pup.
The elderly cupped his hand and took some water from the spigot that the stray dog couldn’t reach. He then approached the dog allowing it to drink water that was poured into his hands. The thirsty stray dog happily obliged as the man offered him water more than once. With a smile on his face, the old man surely did what he had done out of love.
As Sanchez wrote on her post; “This is love. There are still good people.” Here’s the footage of the sweet interaction:
Digno de compartir eso es amor .. Todavía existe gente buena 😍🤗😍😍

While the video may be simple, quick and did not offer many details, the gentleness and affection between the old man and the stray dog manifested. And as expected, the short clip has now gone viral.
From the time of posting, Sanchez’s video post has now been viewed 20 million times and shared almost 500,000 instances. It also received more than 100,000 different reactions and comments from all over the world.
Here’s how some of the netizens responded.
Posting clips such as this are not merely for gaining the likes, comments, reactions or shares. Hopefully, social media can serve as an instrument in inspiring others to follow and contribute to the kindness the world needs. Clearly, an act of kindness, no matter how big or small, is never left unnoticed.
