Anyone who’s a parent knows that the first time your baby says “mama” or “dada” your heart bursts with pride. In this funny video, it’s not the baby who says mama, but the pet dog!
Andrea Diaz-Giovanini from Utah was trying to coax her nine-month-old son, Sam, into saying her name. The nine-month-old baby is standing up at the foot of Andrea’s chair. The family’s Australian shepherd dog, Patch, is sitting next to the baby, staring up at Andrea. Andrea has a takeaway container of food in her lap. It is obvious Patch would like a bite, as he stares intently at Andrea’s fork.
Every time Andrea asks her son to say “mama,” Patch chimes in with several excited howls and barks. Sam sits there pretty unfazed by the whole thing. But the Australian shepherd dog is super excited to participate! Andrea keeps trying to get her son to say the word, but what happens next is surprising.
No one expected the baby to be upstaged by the family pet! Andrea waves a bite of delicious food around on her fork, trying to entice her baby to say her name. Instead, Patch starts saying, “mama!” You won’t believe it until you see the video. The Australian shepherd is clearly saying “mama,” hoping for the bite of food as a reward. Check out the video below:
Andrea can’t help but laugh as her dog keeps repeating the word “mama,” in hopes of getting a bite of her food. What might be even funnier is Sam realizes Patch has stolen the spotlight. The baby reaches over and gives the Australian shepherd a few disapproving pats. Andrea bursts out into uncontrolled laughter. These two are quite the hilarious pair! In the end, only the dog said the word mama, and no one got the food. Too cute.
