Texas right now had become an icy wasteland. The state that is known for lush greens and scenic deserts currently looks a little different this time of year. This drastic change has caused a lot of problems for millions of Texans, and that does not exclude the four-legged citizens of this great state.

In the city of Southlake, a pupper almost got trapped in an icy pool one fateful day. This curious yellow Labrador named Zoya belongs to Rajat Sharma. The dog dad shared that his fur baby just loves exploring since she was a puppy and that the pupper loved playing in the snow.

But the combination of these two traits almost cost Zoya her life. Luckily for her, Rajat was around when the incident happened. Everything was recorded through their surveillance camera. The pupper was walking around the pool area playing in the snow and sniffing everything that she came across.

Then Zoya walked over to the frozen swimming pool, thinking that it’s perfectly safe. Unfortunately, the pooch thought wrong. As Zoya made her way across the frozen pool, the ice broke and the pupper fell in! At that time, the neighbor’s dogs were around, so they alerted Rajat by barking non-stop.

Rajat’s family was staying at their neighbor’s house because their heating system was broken, but he stayed behind. The fur parent kept on thinking that if he didn’t stay in his house, Zoya would’ve frozen to death. Rajat approached the frozen pool, and he had no choice but to jump in.

The ice broke as the dog dad fell into the pool and he quickly pushed Zoya out of the water. Rajat then ran inside, to change his clothes, and warm himself up. He stated that hopefully, this becomes an example to all Texans, to always keep an eye on their dogs and their children. Especially now that it’s getting warmer and people are starting to spend time outdoors.
